Josh O. George, M.D.
Dr. Josh O. George is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Cincinnati. In 1999, he received his M.D. degree at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio. He went on to do his internship and internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern/Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Dr. George then did his gastroenterology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He stayed on an additional year as faculty at Duke University to do further training in Endoscopic Ultrasound and Therapeutic ERCP/Endoscopy.
During his training, he published articles in the areas of endoscopic ultrasound and biliary disease. He has also presented his research results at various national meetings. His areas of interest include biliary and pancreatic disease, endoscopic ultrasound, Barrett’s therapy, colon cancer prevention and general gastroenterology/hepatology. He hopes to pursue further research here in Fort Worth.
Dr. George is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Texas Medical Association, and Tarrant County Medical Society.
A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Dr. George and his family moved to Fort Worth in July 2007. In addition to spending time with his wife and two children, he enjoys traveling, playing basketball, golfing, and exercising.
